Meet the Doctors

Dr. Ahmed is originally from Detroit, Michigan. He completed his undergraduate studies at Wayne State University and completed his dental degree at Boston University. He completed his general practice residency at Kings County Hospital in 2001 and has been practicing dentistry in New York for over 20 years. Dr. Ahmed is highly skilled in all parts of dentistry and is specialized in the PerioProtect procedure because it promises an impactful and painless treatment for his patients that ensures the overall health of their teeth and gums. 

Dr. Ahmed and his team established Let’s Smile Dental five years ago. In his space, they use the latest state-of-the-art technology with a team of dedicated and talented dentists to facilitate an environment where patients feel comfortable receiving treatment and the right knowledge so they can leave the office and maintain the level of care they receive from Dr. Ahmed and his team. 

Dr. Ahmed and his team share a vision of providing excellent dental care for their patients–whether it is installing implants or simply coming in for your routine cleaning. Dr. Ahmed and his staff will work to tailor an individual treatment plan for each of their patients, so you receive the best results, all while easing any anxiety you might feel when going to see the dentist. Receiving care shouldn’t be a scary process, and no one understands that more than Dr. Ahmed and his wonderful staff at Let’s Smile Dental.

Dr. Salm grew up in West Hartford, Connecticut. He graduated from Syracuse University with a B.S. in biology, and then obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Following dental school, he then went on to complete a General Practice Residency in dentistry at The Mount Sinai Hospital.

Creating solid relationships with patients is of upmost importance to him, and he loves giving patients a reason to smile. As a provider, he is passionate about always improving his skill set and techniques, administering the best possible care to his patients.

Dr. Salm enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing golf, and cheering on Syracuse, the Giants, Knicks, Rangers, Yankees, and Tottenham.

Dr. Alanouf is from Michigan having received her Bachelors in the Environment from the University of Michigan. She then came to New York to obtain her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from NYU College of Dentistry and then completed her General Practice Residency at NYU Langone – Brooklyn.

Her hope as a dentist is to aid patients with dental anxiety in receiving the care they need by helping them feel more at ease in her chair and getting them back to smiling. She also has a passion for Special Care dentistry and is a member of the Special Care Dental Association.

When not at work, Dr. Alanouf enjoys reading, playing video games and board games with friends, baking, drawing and spending time with her two cats, Lily and Nova.

Her favorite dental advice: Brush in the morning to keep your friends, brush at night to keep your teeth.

Meet Dr. Manuela Krahn, our Associate General and Cosmetic Dentist

Born and raised in Germany (and fluent in German and Spanish), Dr. Krahn joined our practice in August 2021.

She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania in 2015. Upon graduation, she completed her general practice residency at Jacobi Medical Center and entered private practice in New York City, the city she calls home.

Dr. Krahn is experienced in performing the following procedures:

Cosmetic Dentistry such as ceramic crowns and cosmetic smile makeover veneers. Dr. Krahn was trained at NYU’s Rosenthal Institute for Aesthetic Dentistry.
Implant dentistry – She achieved a Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in 2021
Root canal therapy
Surgical extractions and bone grafting

Her hobbies include traveling with her husband, playing with her adopted puppy Pretzel, and being active in her community!

Originally from Montreal, Canada, Dr. Nathan Light earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from McGill University. He then completed a hospital residency program, which offered him advanced training in all fields of dentistry in a multidisciplinary setting and the opportunity to treat medically compromised patients. After doing private practice for two years, he traveled to Western Canada with his family to specialize at the University of Alberta in the field of orthodontics, the discipline of dentistry he found most intellectually stimulating and which he was most passionate about.

Dr. Light now lives in Teaneck, NJ, with his wife and children. He is a very personable practitioner who is careful to clearly communicate patients’ orthodontic treatment goals, as complex as they may be, in an understandable and relatable manner. Dr. Light makes it a point to inject humor into his encounters with patients, families, and his supporting staff. As an orthodontist, his primary goal is to help you smile, but he is also guaranteed to make you laugh.

When he takes off his orthodontist cape, Dr. Light likes to spend quality time with his family. You may also find him reading a book, playing chess, writing and playing music, or creating funny videos.
